Solemates was my wife Erin's idea...Erin owns Shine Boutique, a women's clothing store here in Newburyport, which I helped her get up and running. One day Erin said to me, "You know what Newburyport needs is a shoe store, and I think you should open one". At first I was like, "no way, thanks! I know what goes into opening a store."

But the idea started to take root, and I began to get excited about it. And then a space became available, which happens to be right across the street from Shine. I took it as a sign and decided to open Solemates.

My goal is to be a source for lifestyle shoes, for both Newburyport residents and visitors alike. I hope you like what you find.
